Outreach

 

Our group participates in several K-12 outreach activities. Most are coordinated through the Women in Engineering Program  at the University of Maryland, including Exploring Engineering at the University of Maryland (E2@UMD)SPICE Camp and Stepping Stones to Your Future (SSTYF). We have also participated in several middle and high school programs, such as the FIRST Lego League and high school science fair research projects. You can see photos of some of our past outreach activities below.

Prof. Gollner served as a science adviser for a middle school group, “Team Fire” who competed in the 2013 FIRST Lego Leauge 2013 “Nature’s Furry” challenge on Wildfires. The team won the regional competition for research and competed at the state level.
